The Sammamish Montessori School is located in Redmond, WA, and it has programs for children ages two and a half through elementary school. The staff has created an environment in which children can achieve their potential in numerous different areas, all while developing at their own pace and discovering things on their own.
The Youngest Learners
Many children enter the school and join the Prep Program. It’s intended to give children who are anywhere between two and a half to three years old a friendly introduction to how the school works. The class concentrates on socialization and developing independence, and the program accepts students who are not fully potty trained yet. This is a morning program, and families can choose to send their children two, three, or five days a week.
The Montessori Preschool/Kindergarten
Children ages three through six are welcome to join the primary Montessori classes. In these classes, children get to choose from various activities as they build their focus, fine-motor skills, gross-motor skills, numerical knowledge, and literacy knowledge. At the same time, they also learn how to make choices, interact with others, and solve problems. The classroom is set up to take advantage of the various Montessori sensitive periods that occur during early childhood.
It’s suggested that students stay with the Montessori program for three years. There are both morning and afternoon sessions, and students can be enrolled in both.
There are other programs available, including enrichment classes and before- and after-care. The enrichment program includes instruction and guided activities focused around STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math).
Before-care is open beginning at 7:30am, and after-care lasts from dismissal to 6:15pm.
You can consider The Sammamish Montessori School if you live in the Redmond area and are looking for a place where your son or daughter can learn.
